Week one of the Pipeline Track Running Time Trial Series was held on Wednesday 2nd December 2009. There were 58 eager starters on the start line at Fern Tree, many of whom have great ambitions in the new fun running sensation, the B&E Hobart Run the Bridge.
It was great to see our budding youngsters at just 8 years of age having a go alongside superior runners such as the 2009 Point to Pinnacle men's winner.
The Find Your Feet owner & event organiser, and our very own B&E Hobart Run the Bridge Coach, Hanny Allston, was exited with the new series: 'It was so inspiring to see the enthusiasm the participants were showing towards their training. All the feedback from our walkers, joggers and runners informed me that there was a greatly supportive atmosphere out on the track. To have this many runners so early on in the 10 week series suggests that Hobart is really serious about doing their best in the B&E Hobart Run the Bridge.”
There are 9 more training runs to be held in this series, each one beginning at the Fern Tree Tavern at 6pm. It is advised that you arrive a little earlier to register and warm up. Hanny will always be present to provide advice and encouragement, answering any coaching questions that you might have. Next Wednesday's run will be 5km and there will also be a 4km option for all children and any individuals not wishing to participate in the full distance.
